I have a son who is one year and four months. All day long he is walking, touching things. When I tell him not to touch something, he insists and pushes my hand aside. Please tell me what to do.

CG: Dear Hossein, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. From what you say your son’s behaviour is perfectly normal. Children of this age are very inquisitive and want to explore the world around them. Touching objects is part of that exploration. To develop his understanding of what he finds you could explain what the objects are and their purpose. Obviously you wouldn’t let him touch something that could harm him like a fire or electricity. Then you would tell him not to touch as it would hurt him. Also, make sure he has plenty of books, games, and puzzles to occupy him; he’s obviously an intelligent little boy.
