When Stevie’s social worker told me Stevie was gender fluid I wasn’t sure what that term meant and looked it up on the internet.
Stevie, together with his younger brother and sister, had been brought up by their grandparents as their mother was in prison. But the grandparents could no longer cope with Stevie’s behaviour so they were placing him in care voluntarily. He came to live with me.
