The next time I saw Stevie was three months later in the school summer holidays but not to talk to. He was with two young people his age and I was in the car. As I drove past him I sounded the horn and waved. He saw me and waved back.
In September he was in the 6th form at his school and I saw from Facebook he was supplementing his allowance by modelling gender neutral clothes for magazines. I wasn’t surprised. His look is fashionable and will appeal to both sexes. Whatever the future holds for Stevie I feel sure he now has the tools for making the right decisions.
As far as I know ‘Joey’ was never caught. I recently took part in a foster carer training seminar about keeping children safe online. There is an article on this website based on my training with guidelines to help parents and carers: https://cathyglass.co.uk/article/staying-safe-online/
