Hi Cathy, I am a 42-year-old mom of two amazing kids. I began reading your books during the COVID 19 lockdown – I became hooked, and have been reading them since! I just wanted to thank you for your books. I feel a connection to your books. Sharing your experiences with fostering has given me insight and understanding that I have been able to apply to my own kids, and I have utilized many of your parenting tips and tricks. I greatly admire your selflessness and dedication, and wish you and your family all the best. Thank you again for your books. Sincerely,
Dana, USA, 28/07/2025

Hi Cathy Glass, I recently started reading your books and now I am a fan of your books. I see you as a kind hearted person who welcomes everyone with a genuine smile and I am amazed by the way you dealt with the kids whom you foster who had challenging behaviors. You just seem to know what is right. Today I finished reading your book ‘Life Lost’ and I feel terribly sorry for the loss of your mother. I apologize if I am too late to give my sympathy. How are your children, Adrian, Paula & Lucy. I hope that you and your family are doing well. Yours sincerely,
Akithya, Sri Lanka, 18/07/2025
I finished Damaged today. I truly worry about Jodie. I hope she will be ok as she transitions to adulthood. I hope someone will be there to care for her. Thank you for all you do every day Cathy. You are a heroic woman! All my admiration.
Louise, USA, 12/07/2025.
Dear Cathy, I have just read (in 2 days) the beautifully written book, Hidden. It was told with such care and the ending had me in tears (happy tears I may add). Thank you so much for all the lovely books you have written. I admire you for the unrelentless work you and your family have done throughout the years. I have never read so much in my whole life, and then I was given one of your books by a friend. I am about ¾ of the way through the list. Thank you for all the work you have done and for your exceptional writing.
Carol, 06/07/2025
I have read many of your books through Amazon, Audible and quite enjoy them. I admire your work, patience and dedication that you have given to all your foster children and your biological children. It’s hard for me to put your books down when I start reading them. I often stay up late at night reading your books. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
Gladys, US, 11/06/2025
Hi Cathy. I read a lot of books and have never reached out to an author before, but your work stays with me in the best of ways. I have worked my way through reading all your books, and now I find myself listening to all the audiobooks. I wanted to reach out to you and thank you for your life’s work fostering, as well as for writing about it! You have such a way of making readers feel connected to your family and the children you foster. I find myself crying and cheering, right along with you. Your work is all heart, and you have truly touched mine. Thank you for sharing.
Kim, Canada, 04/06/2025
Dear Cathy, I’m writing as a huge admirer of your books and the work you’ve done — not only as an author, but as a foster carer and, truly, a remarkable woman.I’m currently trained as a teaching assistant here in the Netherlands and plan to persue a bachelors degree in primary education in the next couple of years. I found Innocent in a book-sharing mini library while in Spain not too long ago. From the very first chapters, I was struck by your strength, patience, and unwavering kindness. Especially in the face of challenges like the ones you faced with Molly and Kit’s parents. It was also my first real insight into the complexities of fostering, and it left a deep impression on me. Since then, I’ve read Daddy’s Little Princess and plan to start Will You Love Me? next. Your writing has not only opened my eyes to the realities of vulnerable children’s lives, but also made me reflect on the power of compassion, softness and resilience. You come across as someone whose gentleness is a form of incredible strength. Thank you again for the work you do and the hearts you’ve touched. Your books stay with people, I know they absolutely stayed with me. Warmly,

Hello Cathy, I am 19 years old. I have just finished your book, ‘Unsafe’. I would just like to send you this email to say, thank you for all that you have done for children in care. I have been in care since I was 5 years old and I have jumped around the care system. I have lived in 8 different foster homes throughout the years. Many years ago I discovered your books when I was struggling with my mental health. Your books helped me through the most difficult times as I found comfort within you and your writing. Your patience and kindness with children has really been appreciated. Thank you for helping the kids in all the way you do. You’re a wonderful foster carer and a wonderful person. I hope you enjoy the more time with your family and grandchildren. Lots of love from
Lucy, 30/05/2025
Dear Cathy, I enjoy your books enormously. I wanted you to know that you and the children you have looked after have a place in my heart. I have laughed and cried along with your stories and think you are an inspiration! With all my love.
Ellie, 29/05/2025
Hello Cathy, I hope this email finds you well. My husband and I foster a little girl here in Ireland and it was someone in work who told me of your books. To say I’m hooked is an understatement. I’m listening on Spotify premium and then purchasing additional reading hours because of how relatable, well written and heartwarming your books are. I just wanted to congratulate you on not only your success as a foster carer but also as an author. Your writing style is captivating, and I regularly wish my 4-hour round trip to work was a little longer to keep listening / reading. Much love and respect.
Tony, Ireland, 22/05/2025
Hi there Cathy, I just wanted to commend you on your excellent books of the children you have cared for. I haven’t been able to put the books down! I work within Social Care in the NHS and you are incredible! You are the salt of the earth and there should be more people like you! I have Autism myself. Thanks so much for reading this. Kind regards
Danny, 20/05/2025
Hi, I wanted to write to you about your book I have recently just read “Mummy Told Me Not to Tell”. I am dyslexic and I have never been able to read a book all the way thought but I have always wished to. This last week I have been reading your book and I just finished it today. Thank you for helping all the children you have and also helped me read a book all the way though. Thank you.
Rose, 20/05/2025
Hi Cathy, I am a social worker in Australia. I just wanted to say I find your books so satisfying and really do cover the struggles the system and foster carers face. I find your books relatable and help me with my own practice as a social worker. I especially find it interesting when you discuss how the UK system works, given the Australian social services system is based a lot on the UK. My favourite ones are when your daughter Lucy has moved in and is a member of the family. I don’t know why hearing that beautiful story brings me to tears. Thank you for all your hard work as a foster carer. I think you’re doing an amazing job, especially with all the struggles with us social workers. Kind regards
Raina, Australia, 13/05/2025
Good evening Cathy, I have just finished reading “An Innocent Baby”, this is the 14th book of yours I have read. Thank you for being so open and honest and opening the eyes of people like me. I wouldn’t have a clue what goes on in the world of fostering and the pure evilness that some children have to endure in their lives. The way you write your books is incredible, you have me hooked from the first page and I can never put them down because I’m dying to get to the end, and as soon as I put the book down, I’m on your website looking for the updates on the children. You are extremely personable. You are very specific with your details which helps to paint the pictures and set every scene in my mind. You are an incredible person and have clearly made such a difference in so many children’s lives, thank you for being a very talented author and what I can only imagine to be one of the best foster carers a child in care could ever wish for. Take care.
Amy, 09/05/2025
Hi Cathy, Me and my mum are collecting all of your books and we share them between us! There absolutely brilliant to read, you’re an absolute credit to all those children. I’m 27 years old and I have a little boy. It’s not been easy being a parent. Reading your books has given me a lot of confidence when times have been hard. I suffered very badly with postpartum psychosis when my son was born and I wish I’d started reading your books back then as I’m sure it would have helped me through the tough times. Your honesty my idol.
Clarice, 05/05/2025
Brilliant books so far i have read. I was adopted but a complicated one. Some things have stayed with me into adulthood. I have a tear often when reading your stories but can’t put them down. You are an inspiration, well done. I am one of thousands of adopted children, I would have preferred someone like you but it was sorted way above what would be allowed now.
Jane, 01/05/2025
Hi Cathy i just wanted to let you know how much I really enjoyed reading your book Nobody’s son could not put it down. I was a childminder for 25 years some of the children had challenging behaviour that would come to me. You did such a marvellous job with Alex as so did Gareth & Gwen. I wanted to say how very proud I am of him turning his life around and also being in a better place. Thank you again Cathy for the brilliant books. Lots love
Sula, 27/04/2025
Aurelie, France, 22/04/2025
Hi Cathy, Just wanted to express how very helpful I’m finding your books. I only recently discovered you after talking to a couple of friends who highly recommended I start reading your books. A couple of years ago we gained special guardianship for our grandson and we are now foster carers hoping to help other families. The tips of knowledge I’m gaining from you are priceless. I’m hoping we can do half as good a job as you did but we will definitely be giving it our all. Kindest regards.
Carole, 20/04/2025
Hey. I read your books about 17 years ago. I could never get into a book, or story. I’m 36 now. I couldn’t put them down. Damaged was the first one I read and then the nights the angels came. I recently decided to get my life together again. I’m a teacher, behaviour manger, and safe guarding officer. love my job but sometimes I wonder why I bother arguing for a child centred approach rather than a child lead one, it’s getting worse. I had a pretty shitty time growing up. But I decided to break the cycle. My mum always still made sure I knew right from wrong. Thank you for your books. You are worth more than your weight in gold. Lianne, 19/04/2025
Hi Cathy. I’m writing after finishing book number four of your brilliant books. I’m a 45 Irish mum of 5 kids who never had time to read but found out it’s not that I hadn’t time to read but i had been reading the wrong books till now. The librarian had suggested your books when I asked for true story and now I find myself reading your books and finishing them in a few days. I’m hooked and look forward each time to the next book. Thank you and to all the amazing kids that walked through your door and for sharing their stories. All the best for you and your family. Kind Regards
Sinead, 19/04/2025
Hi Cathy, You must be some kind of super woman, to write all these books in addition to all the wonderful work you do with disadvantaged, underprivileged and sometimes abused children. I know you are semi retired now but you still go above and beyond in your care for others. Often unpaid I suspect. I find your books compulsive reading. I have just finished ‘Helpless’. It is so sad that there are so many children in need of proper care and love. What you and others like you do must be very rewarding but often heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Kind regards.
Moira, 18/04/2025
Hi Cathy, I am 30 years old and have a loving husband and a gorgeous boy named Chester. I am also 35 weeks pregnant so expecting another bundle of joy very soon. I have wanted to reach out to you for many years. I first began reading your books in high school, approximately 15 years ago. I have read every single book multiple times and am continuously checking for updates on your next book; I just finished Helpless. I share your books with many of my friends and family, encouraging them to read them too. No one has been disappointed! I wanted to reach out to say thank you. I’m truly thankful for all your wisdom. Kind regards.

Hi, I grew up in care and when I read your books it takes me back to the world I once knew, only too well! I wish I had a foster carer like you, like many others I was passed from pillar to post and my experience wasn’t always positive. I did have some wonderful carers but I also had some which treated me worse than I could ever imagine. Some made me feel like an outsider, one physically abused me. I was in care from the age of 3. I have 2 daughters of my own now, I have just finished reading your books about Lara and Arthur, made me remember when I had my first daughter at nearly 21, everyone expected me to fail. Your books take me into the world of fostering. I believe you have done the best for every child in your care.
Shannon, 28/03/2025
Hi Cathy, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your books and have read every single one. You are a huge inspiration to me and I am now considering fostering in the future when I get my own house. I have worked in childcare for a long period of time. As well as fostering I find you so relatable and inspiring in other ways. I honestly mean it when I say your books have changed my life and I now try and look at things in a more positive way. So a huge thank you for that, you help people in ways you may not even be aware of and you are amazing. Thank you again
Millie, 27/03/2025
Hi Cathy, I have been with my current partner for a long time and he fought for custody of his daughter who’s autistic. I wanted to say how your books helped me to understand the work social services do and the court system( we had never heard of a section 7 before that or what it was or about different orders that can be made). You have been a true inspiration to me and I have learnt so much about bringing up my stepdaughter. I have done many courses on special needs now and currently work with a child with additional needs. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Regards
Lisa, 24/03/2025
Dearest Ms. Glass, I fell in love with your books in May 2024 when I first read “Neglected” about that little boy who thrived so much in your care. While I’m in the middle of two of your works right now. My most favorite was “Damaged,” because I, too, was sexually assaulted as a child. I still suffer major consequences in my employment opportunities, relationships, and daily activities, because of this trauma. I am from the United States and love learning new words and phrases. I do not look forward to the day I finish your fostering memoirs, but there’s the Lisa Stone Thrillers, Happy Kids, Happy Adults, and Happy Mealtimes that I can dive into. Thank you for your writings as they have touched me and no doubt others around the world. Happy World Book Day.
Amanda, USA, 24/03/2024
I just finished Where Has Mummy Gone and honestly I sat here crying my eyes out at the last. I am 84 now. My mum died at age 28. I was only 7. She had been very ill. I used to have to run next door when she took a bad turn. I remember once the child services coming as my dad had brought this woman into the house. I could relate to little Melody in many ways and am so glad she was found a good home and met up with her siblings, finally. I’ve read all your books Cathy and thank you for all the good work you and your children have done and continue to do.
Kathleen, USA, 23/03/2025
Hi Cathy I just wanted to say thank you for your books. I have read your books hundreds of times and they have helped me. My own children were taken off me because of the stigma a paedophiles child becomes a paedophile themselves. I was never given a chance and my father’s actions have affected my entire life. But I survived I wish I could meet you as even though I am not one of your foster kids I always wished I was. Thank you for your books. I hope you are all well and give my love to your family. Love
Elizabeth, 16/03/2025
Hi I have been reading your books and I have previously worked in the care field for children who are in homes and are unable to be fostered as their traumas are severe. You are a very inspirational woman and I have loved your books so far. I’m not a very emotional person but some of your achievements with the children you have looked after are truly amazing. You have such patience and love and understanding. I just wanted to say you are absolutely amazing.
Tahlia, 13/03/2025
Good Afternoon Cathy, I was in the care system and had an amazing foster mother but she unfortunately died 5yrs this November. Felt like my world turned right upside down. I am currently reading your “An innocent baby” I really feel for Haylea. I do hope she is healing well. She disclosed some serious issues with you, I disclosed some serious issues to my foster mother at 14 and I was petrified. So brave of her!! Take care and look after yourself! Be proud of yourself, fostering isn’t easy! Thank you so much for your books! Much admiration to you,
Chan, UK, 12/03/2025
Cordialement.
Marie, France, 09/03/2025
Om! I read lots off your books just recently and Tayo’s story got me. How many other children are there like him? I cried when I ready the ending. You made me feel so proud for you, you are an incredible person. Vanessa, 28/02/2025
Dear Cathy, I recently read your “Mommy told me not to tell” book and felt compelled to write you. Honestly I’ve never written to an author before, but I felt I had to reach out to you. English is not my first language. So I apologize if I make any grammar or spelling mistakes. Cathy, first of all I want to say how much I appreciate everything you do for foster children. It’s truly amazing, and I have so much respect for your dedication and kindness. I had the privilege of growing up with two loving parents, and I never take that for granted. I realize not every child gets the same love and care I had, and it really breaks my heart. Thank you for your incredible service and genuine kindness.
Tharindi. Sri Lanka, 24/02/2025
I came across one of your books years back at a Walmart. I have enjoyed reading your stories! I have never done foster care for the state, but did have a teenage girl living with me for several years who had emotional needs, so I can relate to your books and enjoy reading about the children that you have helped. I recently read your book “Helpless.” And can understand how helpless you felt!
Deborah, USA, 15/02/2025
I just finished your last book. God sent an angel down from heaven when he made you. I wish there were more people like you. These children should be grateful for you, you turned their lives around. Some were destroyed at birth which is a shame. When I read your books I could not put them down. So God bless you and your family.
Darlene, USA, 14/02/2025
I wanted to thank you for your books. I slipped through the gaps in our system, thankfully I had opportunities that had helped guide me to be able to leave at 16 and make something of my life. Fast forward 15 years later I found myself on the other side and took my nieces. Your books helped me realize what had happened wasn’t normal growing up. Thank you for that.
Jessica, 08/02/2025
Dear Mrs. Glass, I just finished reading all of your fostering memoirs. I have had a decent life myself, but I like reading true stories about children and families. My favorite of your kids was Danny because he ate his food in order from palest to darkest. My second favorite was Aimee because she was so honest. The ones I felt the most gut-punched by were Molly and Kit because nobody seemed to recognize how dangerous their situation was. (Obviously Jodie, Zeena, and Haylea had evil fathers, but at least somebody in power caught on to them. Molly and Kit didn’t end up getting much protection.)
Alice, USA, 06/02/2025
Hi, I have been listening to your audio books. I have just finished listened to my 3rd called The Child Bride, what a sad story, and a brave girl z was. The other 2 books were Will You Love Me and Neglected. They are just as amazing as each other. Would like say thank you for all you have done for the ones you foster.
Toni, 06/02/2025
Hello Cathy, I’m I just wanted to thank you for your books. I really enjoy reading all your real-life stories. I feel so much love respect and patience a magical gift of self thank you for making us live this and I learn about behaviors. I’m touched by this sharing and it confirms my love for her children who arrived on earth with all their problems… so beautiful that they all came for your mother when she went to heaven, that’s where we see the power of love! So thank you and bravo I wanted to tell you. Yours with all my affection.
Valerie, France, 05/02/2025
Hello Cathy. I just wanted to drop you an email. I have been a huge fan of you for a lot of years. I have just finished Helpless. What an amazing book that was. I really don’t know how u do it, you really are a hero. In helpless I love the fact that you stood by that young lass and helped where no one else would. This story really shows what an incredible person you are. Take care. Wishing you all the best.
Donna, 04/02/2025
Hello Cathy, I hope you are doing well. I’ve just finished reading Dawn’s story, which, like all your stories, deeply moved me. Through your words, one can really feel the beautiful and kind person that you are. My warm thoughts to you, Andrian, Lucie, and Paula.
Lola, France, 31/01/2025
Dear Cathy, I wanted to thank you for your books. I’ve either read or listened to all of them on audiobook. I’d had a rough life and your books give me hope. I’ve learned a lot of coping skills listening to you which have helped. Please keep up the good work!! It really does make a difference in people’s lives. Thanks!
Beth, USA, 29/01/2025
Dear Cathy, I just want to say that I really enjoy your books. I just recently started to read them and I’m looking forward to reading them all. I also commend you for fostering, it takes someone with a special heart and after reading your books you indeed have a special heart .I am a CASA volunteer and advocate for children in foster care. Every year I have to have Educational training hours and your books count as that, lucky me. Maybe someday I can put my CASA stories into books. Sincerely
Tina, USA, 26/01/2025
Hi Cathy, I’ve just finished reading Damaged. It took me a total of about 6 hours, it was heart wrenching to read of poor Jodie’s tragedies. She’s so lucky to have had you and I’m sure you made a huge impact on her life even though it didn’t feel like it in some parts. Thank God there are some beautiful humans such as yourself for these poor vulnerable children. I was in tears when I read the part where Paula had written the letter in her words to you. I hope she was able to live a somewhat ordinary life. My heart goes out to her, and your family for everything you done and continue to do. Much love.
Mars, New Zealand, 25/01/2025
Hi Cathy, I just wanted to reach out to say what a wonderful human you are for helping all those children over the years. I’m not normally a big reader but I read your books in 3 days. I don’t know why I keep reading them as some of the stories are horrific and I end up angry and in tears but I like that most have a beautiful ending after so much tragedy. What is more upsetting are the cracks in the social service system and what these poor kids have to go through. You and your family are a true inspiration. Take Care.
Danielle, Australia, 13/01/2025
Hi there, I started reading your books years ago. I’m currently just about to finish my B.A. hons degree working with children and families. So I decided to get back in to reading none academic literature. I’ve just purchased your new book Helpless. I can honestly say to one single mother to another how I am amazed by your care and hard work over the years. I’m due to go on to complete my PGCE in September. However, since reading your book it has made me question this and look more in to family support work. Warmest regards,
Gemma, 11/01/2025
